New life for Hebden Bridge’s finest building!

In times past, the Hebden Bridge Town Hall (Council offices building) was the centre of local civic and community life.  We want to make it once again the hub of our community.

A new community-run charity, Hebden Bridge Community Association Ltd, is negotiating with Calderdale to take over management of this key building in our town.

During 2009, we hope to convert empty offices at the rear into a new public hall and function room, the Waterfront. Meeting space will be available.

More ambitiously, we are fund-raising for major development on the site to create a proper hub for the Hebden Bridge community, where there will be access to services from Calderdale and the town/parish councils, facilities for community groups and a base for small enterprises.

Be a Friend of the Town Hall! The transformation of such a landmark building in Hebden Bridge has to be embraced by all in our community. In April we launched our Friends of Hebden Bridge Town Hall scheme, and have already signed up several hundred people, young and old. You can now become a Friend online here or download details and an application form to enrol by post.

As a Friend of the Town Hall, you'll play a part in the development of our town by supporting a charity that aims to provide great facilities for local people and businesses. And you'll also receive one of our lovely commemorative mugs - a must for every Hebden Bridge kitchen!

NEW!: Our eleven-minute film will tell you all about what we're trying to achieve. It's on You Tube.

You'll find more information about the project on this website. And for the latest news on progress, keep up to date with our blog.
