Well done the lot of you!Posted by Someone who got shot working for peace..., The students' demo made the first day of war more bearable. I got up expecting to see people going about their normal business, which would have felt dreadful. It was not a day to do that, it was a day to refuse to act according to the rules. I chose not to go to work and instead to join the Calderdale students. You guys gave me a little more hope to keep going with... keep it up, we can change things - we must. PS to calderdale students: I would love to meet up with some of you guys to share ideas - email me if anyone's interested! I am an anarchist, mostly work under the Earth First! banner, and do some Palestine human rights work, and live in Hebden. Posted by Guy Beech, Anarchy. What a lovely outlook on life! Go and do it somewhere else please. I believe in democracy and live in one of the most tolerent countries in the world. We did not achieve this state of affairs through anarchy, or would you prefer a return to the dark ages? Actually it sounds like you are an environmentalist who believes in human rights and I fully support you in that, but anarchy....... no. Posted by Mick West, Posted by Matt Hardie, Those in favour of this war should take a look at this photo (NB: This photo is extremely graphic and upsetting. Don't click on the above link unless you are sure you want to. - Ed)This is Ali Ismail Abbas, 12, who says he was wounded during an airstrike, lies in a hospital bed in Baghdad, on April 6, 2003. Abbas was fast asleep when war shattered his life. A missile obliterated his home and most of his family, leaving him orphaned, badly burned and blowing off both his arms. Today a restaurant full of people was wiped out because SH might have been there and a building full of journalists was attacked, killing and injuring many of them. If only more people had listened to the wisdom of these great children. Posted by Guy Beech, From a person who has been told he does not read books and is by inference uninformed and intellectually inferior here is a Collins dictionary definition of Anarchy. As I said, it is not the way I would like this country to be run. Source: The Collins English Dictionary 2000 HarperCollins Publishers:anarchy ['nək] Where is any form of justice and liberty for the young, old and weak in there? Posted by Frances Robinson, Fortunately the link to the photo of the little boy who lost both his hands isn't working. I believe he also lost his parents to the same bomb. If he haunts some of you as it has haunted me this last few days the broken link is a blessing. And this is the tip of the iceberg in terms of just what is going on and how many civilians and children have died or been injured. Absolutely not in my name.
