Fighting in Monrovia

I've received this appeal from Medecins sans Frontieres who are working in Liberia amongst other places: MSF try to provide quality health care for all, often in appalling conditions. Other people in Hebden Bridge might also want to support them.

"Civilians in Liberia are being terrorised by fighting between government forces and armed opposition groups in and around the capital, Monrovia. In the middle of this madness MSF volunteers are doing all they can under extremely violent conditions to treat these people wounded by artillery fire and to provide emergency medical care.

We need money to help us sustain this level of assistance. Please forward this email to as many people as possible and help us to inform people of this horrific situation and raise much-needed funds.

The BBC has just carried a report featuring MSF's work in Monrovia, it demonstrates why your help is so important:

"The few aid workers still here are appalled".
