Christmas Lights Switch On

All local primary schools were invited: Burnley Road, Cragg Vale, Scout Road, Central Street, Stubbings School, Hebden Royd E of E and Riverside. Hebden Royd Mayor Robin Dixon, after one or two problems with the sound system, compered the event. When all had converged, led by the HB Junior band, carols were sung and Father Christmas came out of hiding to turn on the Christmas Tree Lights, and the lights all round town at the same moment.
