Hebden Royd invites community groups to apply for grants

Monday, 18 June 2012

This year Hebden Royd Town Council has an increased budget of £75,000 which it hopes will benefit as wide a range of groups as possible.

This year, members of the Community Funding Committee will be focussing on the groups and projects which need their help most in the current economic downturn.

This includes projects for children and young people, the elderly and those which help residents on low incomes or in social need.

Applications which bring economic benefit to Hebden Royd and boost its profile will also be considered.

Coun Richard Scorer, Chair of the Community Funding Committee, said: “We would welcome applications from all parts of Hebden Royd and we want to ensure that the grant budget we do have is distributed fairly and reflects the real diversity of our community and that funding is allocated right across the board from projects helping children and young people to the elderly.”

“Every application is considered carefully and if people want to find out how to go about applying to us for grants we are there to help.”

Last year,  the list of recipients of grant funding from HRTC included Mytholmroyd Community Association, The Tinderwood Trust, White Ribbon Campaign, Calder Valley Club and the Folk Roots Music Festival. A full list is attached.

Anyone wishing to find out more about how to apply for grant funding from Hebden Royd Town Council should look at the Community Funding section on the Town Council Website www.hebdenroyd.org.uk or contact Town Clerk Jason Boom  on 01422 842181 or e-mail Jason@hebdenroyd.org.uk.

The deadline for the next round of applications is 1st  September 2012.
