Customer First on the move

Thursday, 16 August 2012

Calderdale Council's Customer First centre in Hebden Bridge is on the move.

From Monday 20 August 2012, the customer advice centre will be based at Hebden Bridge Town Hall.

Customer First, currently located in Hebden Bridge Library, is a centre where people can request Council services and get help and advice from a team of dedicated customer care advisors.

The centre's new home will be on the ground floor of the new extension at Hebden Bridge Town Hall, St George's Street, Hebden Bridge.

Calderdale Council's Cabinet Member for Communities, Cllr Pauline Nash, says the new Customer First centre looks wonderful.

"The new centre will continue to offer the same great help and advice on Council services, but in a more modern and attractive setting, with greater privacy for people to talk to advisors one-to-one if they need to."

The centre's opening hours will remain the same:

Monday: 10.00am – 5.00pm
Wednesday: 10.00am – 5.00pm
Thursday: 10.00am – 1.30pm

Hebden Bridge Town Hall is one of the first in the country to be owned and managed by a community-run charitable trust, Hebden Bridge Community Association, following a pioneering asset transfer from Calderdale Council in 2010.

Chair of Hebden Bridge Community Association, Peter Hirst, says:

"Our aim is for the Town Hall to be a real community hub, where a wide range of public services can be accessed.

"We are delighted to be welcoming Calderdale Council's Customer First service.

"The Town Hall has historically been the place where local people have come to access public services, and we are very pleased that our new development gives us the facilities to be able to bring Calderdale's front-line service back in to the building."

Hebden Bridge Town Hall also houses the offices of Hebden Royd Town Council.

Calderdale Council runs Customer First centres in Brighouse, Elland, Hebden Bridge and Todmorden. Visit the Calderdale Customer First pages on the Council's website (www.calderdale.gov.uk) for details.
