Tour de France: Cragg Vale bunting in line for world record - 10 kilometres!

Cragg Vale's Tour de France bunting makers have measured up perfectly in their bid to produce the world's longest single stretch of bunting.
The bunting will be put up this weekend along Cragg Road, the longest continuous incline in England.

They are awaiting confirmation from Guinness World Records (GWR) that their 10km+ array of colour meets the official requirements.
Currently the record is held by BBC Hereford and Worcester UK who created 10,000 metres (32,808 ft 4 ins) in November 2013.
Cragg Vale's bunting miles took 50 people 20 hours to measure at Craggs Energy HQ last weekend (June 21) when two independent surveyors double-checked the length.
The bunting had to be hung in sheds to comply with GWR rules and it will be put up along the length of Cragg Road on the weekend of June 28 and 29.
Sharon le Corre, one of the organisers, said, "We are absolutely thrilled to have exceeded the current record of 10 kilometres. But we will now have to wait until Guinness World Records have looked at our evidence and decided whether we will be awarded the world record.
"Even if we don't get the record for some reason, we are still delighted with the way the whole community has got involved with this project. Dozens of people, including schools and community groups from far and wide have made different lengths of bunting and we would like to thank everyone who has contributed.
"We look forward now to seeing the bunting hanging in Cragg Vale when the riders come through on 6 July."
