Artsmill Gallery receives grant to create disabled access

Thursday, 10 July 2014

Artsmill in Linden Road, Hebden Bridge has received grant funding of £3,600 from Hebden Royd  Town Council to help create disabled access to its Gallery, Studios and Art School.  Since the death of the founder, David Wright, in May 2013 Artsmill has continued to have varied exhibitions, both local and national, in the new David Wright Gallery created in the Artsmill Cellar.

On being told of the grant, charity trustee Catherine Leedham said, "This community funding by the council to improve accessibility will mean that we can open our doors to more people who will appreciate the diverse works on show throughout the year.  Also there will be much easier access to the Artschool which was opened in January this year"

Artsmill has just finished the showing the festival exhibition of 50 of Sir Eduardo Paolozzi's Pop Art works which attracted over 600 people.  The next exhibition starts in August and a full programme can be seen on www.artsmill.org

For more information on Artsmill or to ask about volunteering, please email secretary@artsmill.org or telephone 01422 647072.
