World On Your Doorstep volunteers needed!

Following on from the success of the World On Your Doorstep music festival in 2007, which was held in Hebden Bridge last July, the festival is back again this year, bigger and better than ever! It promises to be an exciting event, taking place on July 19th and 20th in Calder Holmes Park in central Hebden Bridge.

The aim of the festival is to bring together the communities of Hebden Bridge and the South Pennines area and showcase the musical and creative talents of local musicians, bands and performers from the diverse communities and cultures of the area, along with children's activities and more. The Hebden Bridge Web has been told that there's going to be some great music and goings-on; watch this space!

The festival is solely volunteer-powered, and is looking to recruit volunteers for the weekend of the festival and for the Friday before and the Monday after the festival. Volunteers will receive support from Viv and Emma, the Volunteer Co-ordinators. Volunteers are asked to assist for part of the time and have free time in the festival as well. Emma has told us that volunteering is great fun - "you get involved, have a laugh, meet people and make a contribution to your community!"
