Controversial Labour candidate Steph Booth and the Mail on SundayMonday, 28 December 2009 On September 20, 2009, The Mail on Sunday published an article headed 'Cherie’s stepmother lost teaching job after “hitting boy”'. We reported the Mail's story on this page. We have been asked to take down the original article, which we have done, and report what the Mail has now said. On 26th December, The Mail on Sunday wrote that "Mrs Booth has always maintained she was acting entirely defensively when inadvertently clipping the pupil and the matter was resolved amicably. She stopped working as a supply teacher at that school. There was no disciplinary action. We are happy to set the record straight."
