Postal deliveries

We often get those cards through our door saying "sorry you were not in please collect your parcel." Last week we had two that were left when we were in, and watched the postman post it through our door. When we looked on the back of the form it said please collect your parcel "now" from the office, suggesting that they'd not made an attempt to deliver it at all.

We live down some steps (as do half of HB) so it's a bit more difficult than a normal but wondered if it was just us they did not like or whether this happened to anyone else. Its just a bit of a pain really.

Maybe it depends on how many other packages s/he has to carry. I had one delivered this morning, and our postman had a very full bag. If the bag is full or the package very big it could be a health & safety issue for the postie.

On more than one occassion our postman has handed me a card saying "Sorry you weren't in...etc".

Sometimes, it seems it's just easier if the customer collects their own package.

Wouldn't it be sensible to take this matter up with the Sorting Office?

We arrived home one day to read the delivery note: your package has been left in the dustbin!
