Action in Mytholmroyd!

From Christine Bampton-Smith

Local people, bright ideas and action - this is what has been happening in Mytholmroyd recently. The results have made a difference from the clearing of wasteland on Midgley Road to a beautiful garden, the transformation of Mythomroyd Station and the highly successful Ted Hughes Festival this weekend (22.06.07). All three have one thing in common, the commitment of local people to their community.

Putting ideas into fruition takes hard work and a 'can do' philosophy, hours of planning and form filling. Support of funding partners needs to be gained, and in these cases, among others, Royd Regeneration, Hebden Royd Town Council and Calderdale have given help.

So, congratulations to all those committed to Mytholmroyd and thanks for the vision and tenacity to get things done.
