To anyone, access to Castle Carr is strictly forbidden to the public. I work with a gentleman who lives very near the estate and he is good friends with the gentleman who actually OWNS Castle Carr. The guy in question and his wife, are merely protecting their own land. Anyone who goes up there without permission, is bound to get the brunt of the owners annoyance. Apparently, historical societies and the like, go up roughly two or three times a year (don't quote me on that). So, in short, it's private property and permission MUST be obtained. BE WARNED AND HAVE COMMON SENSE!!!
