Two new bus services |
Thursday, July 4, 2002 Hebden Bridge has recently gained 2 new bus services funded by Calderdale Rural Transport Partnership and Metro Rural. Service 905 operates on Thursday Market Days running two legs as follows:
The service is provided by J & R Travel using an 8-seater minibus. The driver is contactable by phone and can divert up to half a mile to pick you up on the doorstep. Service 500 is an existing link to Oxenhope and Keighley. Following requests from local people this has just been strengthened with the introduction of a morning peak service. Buses now depart daily from Todmorden (0745) and Hebden Bridge Station (0800), arriving in Keighley at 0844. An additional return journey operates at 0900 from Keighley. There is already an evening peak return from Keighley at 1720 and this enhancement will offer more travel opportunities to commuters, students and walkers alike. For further details please ring the Metroline on 0113 245 7676 (local rates apply). On a further note Metro's 'Hebden Bridger' Project has at last got under way. This is aimed at remodelling local bus services to be more responsive to people's demands and will see, among other things, the introduction of brand new low-floor minibuses, better connections and an increase in places served. If anybody has any requests/ideas of what they want to see in the new services please contact Peter Stubbs, in the Rural Transport Partnership on 01422 392139 or the Bridger Project Officer, Liz Neale, on 0113 251 7410.
