£232,000 extra for Hebden Royd

Naomi Goddard, Project Officer and Jason Boom, Environmental Community Warden gave their annual reports to Hebden Royd Town Council last Wednesday evening
The last year has been a very busy and financially successful one with the 12 Christmas highlights including:
- The setting up of Friends of Calder Holmes Park
- Winning the Big Lottery Peoples Millions Bid for £68,000
- Working with CMBC towards the redevelopment of Mytholmroyd’s Memorial Gardens
- Winning the Green Business Link Competition for £15,000 towards a new water play area to replace the paddling pool at Calder Holmes Park
- Securing Safer Communities Partnership money for refurbishment works to the Pavilion at Calder Holmes
- Working with CMBC to try and find a solution to the regeneration of Central Street and its surroundings
- Working in partnership with the community to secure the future of the Council Offices including an £800,000 bid to the Big Lottery
- Completion of the path with lighting through Calder Holmes Park to the station
- KidsFest – a free family event linked with the Arts festival
- Perennial planting around Mytholmroyd and Hebden Bridge
- Working with the local schools on planting and community projects
- New Christmas lights for Mytholmroyd and Hebden Bridge
All in all an extra £116,000 funding has been secured for the community from external bids and this figure has been matched by another £116,000 secured by working in partnership with CMBC and other community organisation bringing in a total of £232,000 funding to Hebden Bridge, Mytholmroyd and Cragg Vale.
