Garden Street: free coach to the Planning Committee meeting Wednesday, 24 September 2008 There was such a fantastic turnout for the public meeting held in Hebden Bridge on 2nd September to hear both sides of the argument about the controversial Garden Street development – some 250 people crowded into Riverside School – that the Council has had to arrange an extra large venue – the King Centre, Halifax HX1 2TS - for the special meeting of the Planning Committee to be held on Monday 29th September at 6 pm to determine the application. Now the Garden Street Action Group wants to make it as easy as possible for as many of the Hebden Bridge community who want to attend this critical meeting to do so and therefore they are laying on free coaches for the round trip to Halifax. The coaches will leave Hebden Bridge at 5pm on Monday and will wait and return after the meeting. Objectors must book their seats in advance at the Action Group's stall in the Square this Saturday between 10.30-2 pm or by email at info@notogardenstreet.org.uk by Saturday. Tickets will be free (but any donation will be gratefully received!) so book as soon as you can. Anthony Rae, spokesperson for the Action Group, told the Hebden Bridge Web, “The Planning Committee need to see how many people in Hebden Bridge are really concerned about this development, so please do book your seat on the coach convoy and come along”.
