Home Workers Xmas Party Tuesday, 9 December 2008 CALLING ALL HOMEWORKERS! Once again, anyone who works at home in the area is invited to the Homeworker's Xmas Party. Mike Barrett, graphic designer and "sort of co-organiser" of the party says "We are the the pioneers of the PC, the instigators of the internet, the warriors of the web - the abusers of alliteration. But we are also the hidden part of the iceberg that is the Hebden economy, the insects in the woodwork of the wainscoting of the valley, the unsung heroes of the mixed metaphor. Yes, we are the homeworkers of Hebden Bridge and every year we can't have an office party. There are no shenanigans behind the photocopier for us, just a cup of tea with two gingernuts as we adjust our invoices for the new VAT rate. So come on you writers, designers, cartoonists, video-makers, weavers, archivists, entertainers and potters - crawl out of the woodwork - no make that get ready to party! Some friendly chat, a magician and a quiz - but no photocopier, that's a promise." From 7.30pm on Friday December 12th in the White Lion Hotel.
