Big Green Weekend

Big Green Weekend

PDF of the very latest version of the programme
Friday, 28th, 3pm

THIS YEAR WE ARE OFFERING a fusion of street theatre, music, debate, film, art, technology and education which guarantees that those who come will leave with a new idea that will change their world for the better.

Make sure that May 29th, 30th and 31st are firmly marked in your minds, mobiles and anywhere else — you don’t want to miss it!

Also this year we will see the launch of Hebden Bridge as a Transition Town on May 29th and 30th where a large area of town will be transformed into a Transition Zone which will be a living example of what needs to be done to make Hebden Bridge a sustainable town.

Recently added to the programme of events are a Flamenco demonstration, an Enabling Theatre Workshop and the documentary “Dirty Oil” which will be showing at Hebden Bridge Picture House on Monday May 31st.

Joanne Johnson, Project Coordinator said “We are very excited for this years Big Green Weekend and looking forward to seeing everything come together. Should anyone want to volunteer to be a model at our Fairtrade/Remade Fashion Show or help with chaperoning the Street Theatre then please do get in touch by emailing Joanne “.

The opening ceremony is Saturday May 29th at 10:30am with events each day May 29 - May 31st. There are also a few stalls remaining at the Green Market, if you would like to have a stall please contact John Walker at Calderdale Council.
