New programme of Creative Courses for 2010 from Northlight Art Studios

Sunday, 3 January 2010

Proving that Hebden Bridge really is the hub of creativity in the Pennines,  ‘The Back Door’ at Northlight Art Studios on Valley Road  are now offering an even broader range of creative courses  from January.

In addition to the regular ‘Art for the Terrified’, ‘Art for the Less Terrified’, Painting and Drawing and Creative Textiles courses are several new opportunities.  Perri Webster will be offering a new course: ‘Painting for Artists and Practitioners’ which will enable those with more experience to really progress their work.  ‘Feat of Clay’, a three session course will provide an introduction to ceramics.  Rachel Connor will offer more of her ‘Essential Construction Kit for Fiction Writers’ workshops, now studying plot and setting.   Also available as day workshops will be Intaglio Printmaking, ‘Nuno’ Feltmaking, Experimental Weaving , Experimental Drawing and Life Drawing for Beginners.

Following the very successful ‘Approaches to Landscape’ weekend course last summer which attracted participants from all over the country,  more weekend courses are now planned: Abstract painting; Walking and Sketching, ‘Life Works’ – approaches to studying the human figure and Approaches to Landscape –sketching and printmaking.

Young artists are encouraged to be creative too!  There are more ‘Young Back Door’ sessions planned for the February Half Term and three Saturdays in May.  Well known local artists will be running workshops for young artists from 8-14 years old.

All courses are led by highly experienced practicing artists –teachers.
Joining a Back Door course is a great opportunity to share in the work of Northlight – a constantly developing not for profit artist cooperative.
