Sunday afternoon concert at Wainsgate Chapel

Friday, 17 September 2010

Wainsgate Chapel’s 2010 series of concerts continues on Sunday September 26th with a performance by local stars Due Voci. Mandy Doyle, Viv Burr and Ailie Kerrane are two sopranos and a pianist who love to make stunningly beautiful music together, seeking out and performing ‘music to fill the soul’.

Wainsgate Concert

Due Voci have called their concert ‘Late Summer Romance’ and they’re giving us a programme of Early and Romantic music, full of love and passion. From Monteverdi to Tchaikovsky and Chausson, this is an exploration of how composers across the years have expressed these universal themes. Expect exhilarating and spellbinding music which will appeal to a wide audience; songs which capture the emotions and go straight to the heart.

Due Voci combine their experience of making music with a genuine desire to give pleasure and enjoyment to the listener. “These three women create a powerful connection with their audience, supremely professional in their delivery and yet relaxed and non-stuffy” said Wainsgate music organiser Dave Nelson.

Due Voci have performed at festivals and venues around the north of England including Pennine Spring Music, Hebden Bridge Arts Festival, Holmfirth Music Festival, Mrs Sunderland Music Festival, Manchester Library and Square Chapel, Halifax.

The concert will start at 3pm and should finish by 5pm. Tickets are available on the door at ?8.00 and ?6.00 (concessions), and there’s lots more information at www.wainsgate.co.uk about the venue and future events including the final concert in the 2010 series when the Bristol Georgian Choir perform on Saturday October 23rd (at 7.30 pm).
