Election Candidates: Hebden Royd Town Council

Monday, 4 April 2011

LOCAL ELECTIONS 2011

The last Town Council Election were in 2007 and no Conservative or Green candidates stood. This is just how it is again in 2011 - a straight race between Liberal Democrats and Labour and a few independents. In 2007, there were 31 candidates for the 18 seats; in 2011 there are 30 candidates. Only 27 of these candidates will be fighting the election as there were only three candidates for the White Lee Ward so they are all deemed elected.

One candidate may qualify to be among the youngest ever to stand for Hebden Royd Town Council. Wesley Downs is just 21.

Three councillors will be elected on Thursday, 5th May from each of the 6 wards for four years.
