Officers received the report in the early hours of Thursday, 30 June.

Around ten plant pots were pushed over and window flower boxes were pulled from the wall.

During the incident, a litter bin was also pulled off the wall.

PC Tony Greenwood, investigating officer, said: "This was a mindless act of vandalism that has caused damage to the station and will cost a significant amount of time and money to clean up and replace.

"Those who think this was fun should think about the destruction they have caused.

"I'd ask that anyone with information about the incident should contact British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference number 5 of 30/06/2011."
