Excellent new band featuring some of the best young musicians in the area. Great singers and instrumentalists playing guitars, keyboards, bass and drums, plus a whole array of unusual instruments!
Since April the band has been working with musician and teacher Dave Nelson and singer-songwriter Lucy Conroy writing new songs and music that make use of the current musical styles already familiar to the performers such as rock, hip hop and metal and also some less explored areas like world music, jazz and contemporary classical.
At the heart of the band are the gong-like tones of Javanese gamelan, the driving rhythms of African and Eastern European drums and the subtle charms of a host of other instruments not normally associated with rock music. This concert is the product of all those weeks of creativity and effort. It's different, it's edgy, it's very exciting and it's an absolute one-off!
With heartfelt thanks to Dr Paul Ruffle and Gongfusion
