The Carrivick Sisters
The Trades Club, Holme Street, Hebden Bridge
8.30pm to 10.30pm
£9 (£7)
Just out of their teens, twin sisters Charlotte and Laura Carrivick have grown up playing and writing music together. Their unique style shows their strong bluegrass influences without obscuring their English roots. With tight harmonies they perform their original songs on guitar, fiddle, mandolin, dobro and clawhammer banjo.
Together the sisters have performed at major festivals in Europe, Canada and the USA and last year made 26 UK festival appearances, sharing a stage with musicians including Martin Simpson, Ralph McTell, Eliza Carthy, Show of Hands and The Coal Porters. They have also made several appearances on television and radio, and were runners-up for the 2010 BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Awards.
