Melvin Burgess made his name and redefined the parameters of young adult fiction with the controversial Carnegie Prize-winning novel Junk.
Burgess has since written other ground-breaking teenage novels. including Doing It and Sarah's Face. Michael Stewart is a multi-award-winning writer, born and brought up in Salford.
He has written several full-length stage plays as well as working in radio and television. His debut novel King Crow was published earlier this year. This event is supported by Hebden Bridge Bookshop.
