You may be interested to hear this tribute to the great Mytholmroyd born poet, Ted Hughes, on I-Player.

He wrote extensively about the Upper Calder Valley throughout his life and he was a good friend of Calder High. His view of the area is in sharp contrast with the superficial nimbist 'It's so Hebden Bridge' funky town rubbish I hear these days.

A memorial to him has been placed in Westminster Abbey, near to Chaucer.
