Town Centre 1965 'photographic gallery' opens

Saturday, 11 April 2015

As part of marking the 50th anniversary of the Pennine Way and the launching of the new Loop, Hebden Bridge Walkers Action and Pennine Horizons have put together an exhibition of photos of the town in the 1960s.

Richard Peters from Hebden Bridge Walkers Action explains: "If people wander down Crown Street and a few other sites around the town they will see 20 large photos in lots of shop and pub windows. These images from around 1965 are wonderful; it is great fun working out exactly where the photos were taken. We hope the photos will stay on display until the beginning of May".

The Loop event on April 25th will now include the Launch of a new book called Heart of the Pennine Way - Hebden Bridge to Hadrian's Wall.

The Loop event has been advertised all over the North of England and has captured many peoples' imagination - even the Times newspaper will be doing a feature on 18th April, so the organisers expect to have a good crowd.

Details of the Loop event can be found on the Hebden Bridge Walkers Action website
