Innovative a cappella singing with juice vocal ensemble

Vocal trio juice, who sang to a very appreciative audience a year ago in Mytholmroyd, are at the Birchcliffe Centre in Hebden Bridge on Saturday 21st May where they'll showcase some new work from their ongoing HITS! Project, in which they combine their usual brand of experimental a cappella with hitting percussion.

Known for their innovative repertoire and creative flair in partnering with artists across musical genres, juice have featured on BBC Radio 4's Woman's Hour, BBC Radio 3 and Classic FM.  Their debut album 'Songspin' won an international Independent Music Award for Best Contemporary Classical Album in 2012 and they were the first UK prize winners in the history of the internationally-renowned Tampere Vocal Festival.

juice will be supported by local ensemble Alyssium whose selection of contemporary pieces will include new arrangements of works from 'Afresh, Seven Times', a collaboration between Calderdale composer Alison West and award-winning poet Donald Atkinson, and the first performance of a setting of a poem written by an eighth century Irish monk about his cat.

The concerts starts at 7.30pm, with doors opening at 7pm.

Tickets are £10/£8/£3 (18 and under) and available on the door and online via www.alyssium.co.uk
