Town Council funding available for community groups
Friday, 7 July 2017
Hebden Royd Town Council once again has funding available to support community groups in Hebden Royd.
2017/18 again sees Hebden Royd Town Council with a sizable Community Funding budget which it hopes will benefit as wide a range of groups as possible.
This year, members of the Community Funding Committee agreed that the theme for the year would be ‘Standing Together’. This reflects the council’s view that our community must stand together in light of the recent attacks and disasters in the UK and further afield.
Minority and vulnerable groups in general will be favoured, including those young and old. Access and disability will also be considered favourably this theme of increasing community cohesion.
Applications from all are judged purely on merit.
Coun Carol Stow, re-elected Chair of the Community Funding Committee, said:, “We know this funding makes a real difference to our area and we are determined to continue to make a difference. We want the funds spread fairly across groups in Cragg Vale, Mytholmroyd and Hebden Bridge and with Councillors from all those areas I feel sure we will achieve that. The projects we support add to the quality of life for all our diverse communities, living within Hebden Royd, small or large we would like to hear from you.”
If you are a community group who need some money for a specific project please do apply to us. You will find us friendly, approachable and interested in all the many and varied activities going on in the Hebden Royd area.
If you are unsure whether your group or project is eligible to apply please contact the Town Clerk, Jason Boom on 01422 842181 or email who will be happy to have an informal chat with you. We understand that not every group enjoys filling out forms but we can re-assure you that every application is considered carefully and thoughtfully.
Last year, the list of recipients of grant funding from HRTC included The Hebden Bridge Handmade Parade, Mytholmroyd Arts Festival, the Ground Floor Project, Bridge Rectifier, Royd Regeneration, Redacre Growing Project and Happy Valley Pride amongst others.
