CanalsideCanalside Comedy at the Little Theatre

Sunday, 24 November 2019

Stacey Buss moved to Hebden Bridge a couple of years ago, and started volunteering at the Little Theatre last year. The Little Theatre wanted help with sound and light, so she's been trained to help in the tech box which she describes as "both terrifying, and enormous fun at the same time."

Stacey BussStacey, pictured right, told the HebWeb that when she started helping at the Little Theatre she had no idea that 6 months later she would be returning to to her previous career - running a comedy night.

Stacey says, "I love live arts, and have previously worked at several live venues including, The Town and Country Club, Hull Truck Theatre Company, and live comedy venue the Cosmic Comedy Club in Hammersmith.

"When Hebden Bridge’s long running comedy club closed I was keen to fill the gap. The Little Theatre is such a wonderful theatre space, it seemed like the perfect venue for stand-up."

Comedy

There's a great line up for 8 December (see above), with Leeds comedian Matt Fong introducing Sam Gore, Tom Little, Becky Heaviside and Steve Day. Next year kicks off with a very special show from the nation's favourite Frenchman Marcel Lucont.

CanalsideStacey continued, "We’re very lucky to get this booking as Marcel rarely appears in the north of England. I do expect this show to sell out, so book early! Next year, we'll be booking regular comedy nights along with some more one act specials."
