Lives Remembered - Doris Phillips
I'm sad to announce the death of my mum, Doris Phillips, at the age of 95.
With husband, Michael, she was part of the hippy social scene in Hebden Bridge and Todmorden in the late 1960s, having left London in 1965.
Their slightly rackety Victorian mansion in Walsden was a hub of music and general partying, and they were also much involved in folk music, centred around the Tod folk club.
There will be a few survivors from that period who may want to know that Doris is to be cremated on Monday 11th August, at 12.15, at Burnley Crematorium, followed by a reception at the New Waggoners, at 1pm.
