Trident Protest

On Saturday, 29 August, Calder Valley CND for Peace and Justice joined in Extinction Rebellion (XR)’s autumn rebellion with a demonstration in Calder Holmes Park, protesting the huge amounts of money to be spent on Trident which should be devoted to combating climate change and helping fund the NHS.
Protesters made the point that they did not want the country to spend £205 million on the Trident nuclear weapons system.
"Why do we need to have nuclear weapons at a time like this - when they are immoral at any time," a spokeperson for the group said.
