Calder GrubHub Plea for Sponsorship
Wednesday, 1 November 2023
For 60 consecutive Wednesdays Calder GrubHub has provided a community meal at the Hope Baptist Church in Hebden Bridge.
Between 50-70 three course vegan meals are served each week comprising of soup, a main course plus home baked cake. This has been possible because of the commitment and hard work of GrubHub's team of volunteers.
The mealtime provides a good community environment for people to chat and socialise as well as eat. Last year a three-course meal was also served on Christmas day to 70 people, and it's intended the same will happen this year.
Volunteers and Sponsorship
We need a constant supply of volunteers so the burden doesn't fall on just a small number of peoples' work. Whilst nobody is paid for their work, ingredients, equipment and items like insurance and heating need to be paid.
Sponsorship is vital for GrubHub to do what it does best i.e., preparing and hosting nutritious meals in a warm, friendly environment. Some sponsors provide a monthly donation, but one-off payments are welcome too. Any amount you can afford is welcome, it's your choice.
So, if you feel you could contribute, please message us on
our Facebook page Calder Grub Hub
or email us @ caldergrubhub@gmail.com.
We can also be found on the Open Collective website where donations can be made directly
Message us on Facebook or email us if you want to volunteer but for whatever reason you are interested, please come to the Hope Baptist at 5pm any Wednesday. We'd love to see you, everyone is always welcome, it's an open door.
