Podcast: Daniel Bath talking about Lucy Illingworth
Viv and Dave Boardman chat with real people from Happy Valley: that's the part of Calderdale which stretches from Todmorden via Hebden Bridge and Mytholmroyd to Sowerby Bridge and Halifax.
The latest episode of their podcast Real Voices of Happy Valley features Hebden Bridge piano teacher Daniel Bath talking about Lucy Illingworth, blind piano sensation, who they first came across on local Facebook pages.
After the chat with Daniel, you can hear Lucy play Debussy, recorded at The Royal Albert Hall. She became a TV sensation on Channel Four's The Piano, which led to appearances at big venues like Albert Hall, the Royal Festival Hall and on Classic FM which was her inspiration from a very young age.
Lucy is an inspiration and evidence that everyone is good at something - ideal for the Real Voices of Happy Valley podcast which highlights the people of the Calder valley and the fascinating things all of them do.
Listen here and on Spotify, Apple podcasts and others to all 36 of the Real Voices of Happy Valley podcasts. You can find Lucy on YouTube, Facebook etc.
Lucy is supported by The Amber Trust, which provides music opportunities for blind and partially sighted children
