Join Grow and Graze on Saturday 28 September at Hebden Bridge Town Hall for their Save Our Soil event.

What is the connection between our soil and the climate crisis, biodiversity loss, nutrition and the gut microbiome, food sovereignty? Join this Grow and Graze event to find out more.

Their free event will give you and your family the chance to dig deep into the wonder beneath our feet and discover the value of soil and how it impacts farmers, food and consumers.

The Programme

  • 11:00 - Ancient Grassland Fungi Project with Steve Hindle
  • 12:00 - An Introduction to Calderdale Ecological Land Trust with Jenny Slaughter including Grow & Graze film showing
  • 13:00 - History of Calderdale Farming with Paul Knights
  • 14:00 - Soil Science with Charlie Clutterbuck
  • 15:00 - A Discussion on Food Sovereignty with Ann Jones, Darren Roberts, Leonie Nimmo and moderated by Jenny Slaughter

The Grow and Graze Network has recently set up Calderdale Ecological Land Trust (CELT), a Community Benefit Society with the help of Coop Culture to enable them to own and/or manage land efficiently in the Calder Valley for the purpose of food production alongside nature recovery.
