Saus Trio at Wainsgate Chapel

The 2025 Wainsgate Chapel Concert Series belatedly kicks off on Sunday July 6th with the return of recorder virtuoso Carmen Troncoso who performed at Wainsgate to great acclaim in 2022 with Spirited Flutes, and now leads the Salus Trio alongside Sarah McNulty on flute and the Ukrainian guitarist Andrii Polishchuk.

"So many instruments played by Salus Trio! I loved the combination of ceramic, wooden and metal flutes with the guitar".

The Salus Trio is a York-based ensemble which takes its name from the Roman goddess of safety and well-being of both the individual and state. This is particularly pertinent as guitarist Andrii Polishchuk had to leave behind his professional performing career and his instrument in Ukraine following the Russian invasion. Their most recent concerts have been to raise funds to purchase a new guitar for him.

For this concert the Salus Trio present an attractive, unusual, varied and multicultural programme featuring Chilean tonadas, Argentine tangos, and Brazilian choros ("Extravagant sounds, a surprising original sound world. Loved the tangos!") alongside an intriguing selection of European works.

This concert will be a complete delight! It starts at 3pm and tickets are available from https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/wainsgate
