More filming in Hebden Bridge:
Danny Boyle movie 'Ink'

While millions are currently watching Hebden Bridge on their screens with Riot Women, today our town was the venue for yet more filming.

Streets were bought to a standstill as Danny Boyle directed scenes from his latest project, Ink. Danny Boyle is famous for, among other things, Trainspotting, Slumdog Millionaire and the being the director of the opening ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics. Here he is pictured this afternoon left opposite the Town Hall

James Graham, well known for, among other things, Adolescence and Sherwood has written the screenplay of Ink which is based upon his 2017 award winning play, a great success which won an Olivier award and two Tonys.

Ink charts the rise of the Rupert Murdoch empire with Guy Pearce playing the lead. Jack O'Connell stars as Larry Lamb, who Murdoch hired to run the Sun in the late 1960s.

The film is being produced by Studiocanal, Media Res, and House Productions. They describe the film as "An explosive cinematic rollercoaster about a group of visionaries and misfits who had an idea for a new kind of news - one that would give the people what they want and would change the face of the world we live in today."
