Trades Club will be second screen for the 2026 Film Festival
Film Festival: 20-22 March
The Hebden Bridge Film Festival today announced that the festival's second screen for the 2026 edition will be the iconic Trades Club, marking an exciting new chapter for the festival.
Taking place from 20-22 March 2026, the Hebden Bridge Film Festival will now screen films across two of the town's most beloved cultural venues: the Hebden Bridge Picture House and, for the first time this year, The Trades Club.
Founded in 1924, The Trades Club is Hebden Bridge's independent socialist members' cooperative, bar and music venue. Internationally recognised as one of the UK's most respected grassroots venues, it was recently named Inspirational Venue Of The Year at the 2025 Northern Music Awards. Famous for hosting acclaimed musicians, artists, and performers, it remains proudly community-owned.
"The Trades Club has long been a cornerstone of Hebden Bridge's culture, so it feels incredibly special to be bringing the Film Festival into this space," said Festival Director Louise Wadley. "Its history and values completely align with what HBFF stands for, so this collaboration feels like a natural fit - celebrating film, community, and shared experiences in a space that belongs to everyone."
Mal Campbell, Promotions Manager at The Trades Club, added, "We're big fans of the Hebden Bridge Film Festival and are delighted to be hosting screenings and welcoming festival goers to the Trades Club in March."
Pass numbers are now limited, and available online at www.hebdenbridgefilmfestival.org.
Full programme details are due to be announced on Friday 6th March.
About the Hebden Bridge Film Festival
The Hebden Bridge Film Festival in association with the beautifully restored, state-of-the-art Hebden Bridge Picture House cinema, and The Trades Club, bring artists and diverse audiences together to celebrate storytelling. With strong roots in local and independent film.
The festival brings film lovers to the Calder Valley and champions emerging and established voices, introducing new ideas through exclusive premieres, exhibitions, conversations, and live performances.
The festival was founded by Louise Wadley and Jay Rutovitz in 2019 to champion the stories of those who exist in the margins, sit outside the mainstream or just plain don't fit in, and promote films produced and directed by women, LGBTQ, working-class, Black and Minority Ethnic filmmakers and filmmakers with disabilities. The annual Hebden Bridge Film Festival will celebrate it's sixth year from March 20-22.
