Parking charges for Heptonstall
Heptonstall residents are making representations to Calderdale Council over the introduction of parking charges at Towngate Car Park. They point out that many, if not most, local residents have to use this car park because their homes have no off-street parking.
Calderdale Council says it has has been reviewing parking charges across the borough and is proposing some changes "in response to demand for the parking spaces and to manage provision."
Charges will be made from 8am until 8pm, 7 days a week, including bank holidays. (One council document says until 8pm, another says until 6pm.) Up to one hour will be 50p, rising to £3 for six hours and over.
How to object or support
Please note: All objections must specify the grounds on which they are made.
Representations or comments should be sent:
- In writing to: FAO: Parking Services, Proposed TROs, Highways and Transportation. C/O The Town Hall, Crossley Street, Halifax. HX1 1UJ

Closing date 11th June 2026.
