MonbiotWin tickets to see George Monbiot

Guardian Columnist and eco warrior George Monbiot is giving a talk on the environment as part of Hebden Bridge Arts Festival on Thursday 3 July.

The festival team are offering Hebweb readers a chance to win a pair of tickets for the one off talk plus question and answer session in Hope Baptist Church.

George Monbiot has used his Guardian column to support his belief that action and political will is needed to combat global warming and has been the scourge of climate change sceptics His uncompromising stance won Monbiot a United Nations Global 500 award for outstanding environmental achievement presented to him by Nelson Mandela.

Arts Festival Artistic Director Helen Meller said: "This talk came about because one of our supporters knows George and just asked him to do it. It's a real coup for us to get one of the highest profile environmental campaigners on the planet, and part of the festival's job is to support passionate discourse about the big issues that impact on our community."
