Strictly tea dancing at Trades Monday, 9 November 2009 It’s time to take a step back in time as the Marvellous Tea Dance Company revive the traditional afternoon cake and dance extravaganza at the Trades on Saturday 28th November. The Marvellous Tea Dance team have become a fixture across Yorkshire riding the wave of the recent ballroom dancing craze and bring their kitschy take on the traditional tea dance to the valley for the very first time. Each show has a live band playing 40s and 50s hits for the dancers to learn some new steps or just show off some of their Strictly Come Dancing moves. The Tea Dance team also turn all their events into a spectacular visual feast with yards of patterned bunting, embroidered tablecloths, crocheted dollies, table flowers and fairy lights, Best of all they serve mouth-wateringly good afternoon fairtrade tea plus a scrumptious array of classic and seasonal cakes, buns and biscuits all served on the cutest vintage china. “The Marvellous Tea Dances are hugely popular in every corner of Yorkshire so it’s a massive coup to get them to do a fun afternoon of tea, cakes and dance that’s suitable for all the family,” says Trades Club Spokesperson Paul Clarke. “Aside from the fact that the Tea Dance crew will be turning our club into a retro palace those who take to the dance floor will be able to strut their stuff accompanied by the best 40s/50s bands in Yorkshire.” The event runs from 2pm to 6pm and family tickets (two adults, 2 children) are available priced £12 from the Trades or online www.tradesclub.info.
